Job Description Summary
Looking for an experienced electrical engineer for a role developing semiconductor capital equipment. Position is in a multi-disciplinary engineering team with electrical, systems, mechanical and software engineers. Candidate would be expected to own electrical design and integration for large systems/products integrating multiple sensors, controls, robots, interlocks and other devices. Role would be primarily focused on new product design and introduction and would include both design work and initial installation, testing, and troubleshooting to bring to volume production.
Key Responsibilities
Interface internally with systems, mechanical, and software engineering to generate system architectural requirements
Create and maintain system schematics
Design electrical solutions including power and signals cables and harnesses, interlock circuits, and control circuits
Selection of OEM components and devices for new requirements
Integrate OEM electrical devices and interface with OEM suppliers to develop custom electrical solutions as needed
Conduct and participate in multi-disciplinary design reviews and FMECAs
Install and troubleshoot new electrical designs/components. Define and conduct additional electrical testing as required.
Work with systems engineers, product safety, and 3rd party engineers to establish compliance to industry standards and certifications.
Education & Experience
B.S. Electrical engineering + 5 years professional experience
Functional understanding of DeviceNet, Ethercat, and serial communications protocol.
Experience with AC power distribution and UL508A requirements is a plus
Experience with PCBA design
Familiarity with semiconductor capital equipment industry and S2 requirements is a plus (not required)
