GENERAL FUNCTION
The Electrical Engineer will serve as a technical lead as a member of the product development team to analyze and provide feedback/guidance for Vinci-branded consumer electronics (CE) products. You will work with Product Managers, Industrial Designers, Product Developers, Quality, and Supply Chain to ensure successful development/sourcing and launch of Vinci's next generation of products.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides technical interface between PD and international supplier base to evaluate overall designs and provide recommendations to ensure manufacturability and minimize problems in production, while maintaining schedules
Performs schematic and component reviews of developed or sourced products to ensure the electrical design, enclosures, and overall build meet global standards (e.g. UL, CE, etc.) and Vinci safety, reliability, and performance requirements
Oversees multiple design or sourcing projects from concept to production on electrical elements
Develops and maintains documentation of electrical design/build issues and drives corrective actions with suppliers
Interacts with suppliers, including onsite visits, conducting manufacturing environment and capability assessments to ensure all electrical functions, safety, build quality, and assembly methods meet Vinci and global engineering codes/standards
Lead technical reviews/teardowns, feedback, corrective actions, and approvals with the development team, supply chain, sourcing, and suppliers
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
BSEE with 8+ years professional product design/engineering experience
Hands-on experience using design and calculation software
Deep knowledge of electrical manufacturing processes
Understanding of consumer electronics electrical engineering codes, regulatory, and safety standards
Experience working closely in a cross-functional team environment and versed in product development cycles and processes, from concept to production
Knowledge of common manufacturing processes including injection molding, machining, casting, sheet meal, and rapid prototyping
Hands-on experience building and evaluating working prototypes/breadboard circuitry, testing products to common industry standards
Ability to work with minimal supervision and thrives in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment
Detail oriented with attention to product quality Effective communicator at all levels
Ability to travel (
Must be computer literate
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
8+ years engineering experience with focus on developing/sourcing high volume consumer products with overseas contract manufacturers
Experience communicating and overseeing overseas suppliers and contract manufacturers
Expert operation of electrical test lab
Bilingual English/Chinese a plus
