The Electrical Surety Analysis organization, 02934, is seeking an R&D Electrical Engineer to work on analog and mixed signal electrical circuit research and development. We apply modeling and analysis to characterize sophisticated, high consequence nuclear deterrence systems. We consult customers on a range of ambitious electrical system and board level design issues to assure performance and safety goals across nuclear deterrence programs.
On any given day, one may be called upon to:
Apply state of the art EDA tools to high impact, high visibility electrical engineering problems
Conduct Monte Carlo simulation studies on Sandia's High Performance Computers (HPC)
Partner with electromagnetic (EM) effects analysts to answer hybrid EM-Circuit questions
Support the maturation of futuristic and innovative electrical designs for ND systems
Develop new cutting-edge modeling and analysis techniques
Research device and circuit technologies' performance in extreme environments
Qualifications We Require
A Master's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering
Experience in analog circuit design and modeling
The ability to acquire and maintain a DOE Q-level security clearance
Qualifications We Desire
Experience and knowledge of circuit simulation techniques
Experience with industry leading electrical modeling and simulation tools such as Cadence/Siemens EDA tools, SPICE, HyperLynx, CST, Silvaco UTMOST, ANSYS Maxwell, COMSOL, etc.
Experience in SI/PI, reliability and statistical analysis, and layout considerations for Electromagnetic compatibility
Proficiency in a high-level programming language (e.g. C/C++, Matlab, Python)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
