Position Overview:
Navistar is looking for an Electric Vehicle Build Engineer to join our team in Elmendorf, TX!
This person will use a hands on approach with leading prototype vehicle builds using the latest and upcoming commercial vehicle technology.
Responsibilities:
Manage and lead prototype vehicle builds, including those for diesel, electric and autonomous vehicles.
Develop vehicle build plans and manage the execution by mechanics and technicians
Work cross-functionally across research and development, along with supporting functions.
Use engineering background to problem solve design conflicts
Communicate build status across levels, either in person or virtually
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology
At least 2 years of experience in product design/development
OR
Master's degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology
Additional Requirements:
Qualified candidates, excluding current Navistar employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. Navistar does not anticipate providing employment related work sponsorship for this position (e.g., H-1B status)
Desired Skills:
Vehicle experience (commercial, passenger, off-highway, and/or agriculture)
Mechanical and/or electrical aptitude
Diagnostics and troubleshooting background
Familiarity with a shop environment
UG, Pro-E or similar CAD tools
