Job Overview
Overall:
The Electro-mechanical technician is a generalist in technology and their broad skill set and knowledge is essential to perform this job function. This function is the repair and preventative maintenance on a variety of electro-mechanical DC equipment including White Carousels, StorBot I/E robots, OPEX iBOT removal, the supporting conveyor and as well as automated and semi-automated equipment and fixtures. Must be able to interface with a wide variety of disciplines within the Operations environment.
Hours of Work: 1:00 p.m. - 9:30 p.m., Monday - Friday. Some after hours and weekend work required for preventive maintenance and equipment repair.
Essential Functions:
Electo-Mechanical Technician:
Frequent lifting of 40# or less (less than 35% of the time) generally at waist level, some above/below waist, some above shoulders. Occasional lifting of 10# or less (less than 10% of the time) above shoulders. Requires standing of up to 100% of the time. Equipment maintenance requires working around and within automated equipment and includes climbing ladders and working 15 or more feet above the ground. This position is located within a working warehouse with regular shifts in temperature. This position requires frequent overtime to include work at night and on weekends.

Essential Functions:
Electo-Mechanical Technician:
- Performs scheduled preventative maintenance on automated and semi-automated equipment using hand tools, power tools and fixtures.
- Troubleshoots and repairs machines as needed.
- Prioritizes repairs and maintenance to optimize Distribution Center equipment uptime.
- Recommends proper inventory levels of spare parts.
- Researches and sources spare parts ensuring backwards compatibility.
- Develop a PM daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly checklist.
- Manages service and PM schedule of Order Picker Trucks and Forklifts.
- Assists in operator training relating to machine maintenance.
- Read blueprints, schematics, diagrams and technical orders to determine methods and sequences of assembly.
- Verify dimensions and clearances of parts to ensure conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments.
- Ability to troubleshoot electronic components within equipment control panels.
- Installs electrical and electronic parts and hardware in housings or assemblies, using soldering equipment and hand tools.
- Performs minor repairs in-house on RF HH units and co-ordinates contracted repairs.
- Works closely with IT and may assist in DC PC set up and troubleshooting.
- Works effectively with personnel across the company; maintaining customer-focus.
- Ensures adherence to all company policies, including safety.

- Associates degree in electronics or related field or equivalent experience.
- 3 or more years demonstrated experience with electro-mechanical / automated equipment maintenance.
- Working knowledge of White Carousels, StorBot I/Es and powered conveyor, preferred.
- Ability to troubleshoot personal computers.
- PC knowledge to include intermediate use of Excel, Word, Outlook and Operating Systems. Experience with ERP / WMS systems a plus.
