Job Details

Responsibilities

• Instill best practices for software development and documentation, assure designs meet requirements, and deliver high-quality work on tight schedules
• Overall development life cycle of the solution and manage complex projects with significant bottom-line impact
• Lead teams in adhering to best practices in SDLC and staying astride of new developments on a modern architecture that is secure, performant and reliable
• Work with product managers in developing a strategy and road map for the launch and continued development of various products
• Work closely with senior engineers to develop the best technical design and approach for new product development
• Project management - prioritization, planning of projects and features, Stakeholder management and tracking of external commitments
• Translate business requirements into technical solutions, recommend alternative technical and business approaches, and lead engineering efforts to meet aggressive timelines with optimal solutions
• Drive hiring decisions for key roles in the software engineering teams
• Lead through code architecture reviews
• Support organizational and industry regulatory compliance programs (e.g. HIPAA, HITRUST, SOC2, GDPR)
• Partnering with other IT leaders to effectively manage the technical operations of a Software as a Service (SaaS) provider

You should know some of the following

• Experience with back-end technologies, such as Python, Flask, and REST API Development
• Experience developing, operating, and securing cloud-based infrastructure with AWS and Azure
• Experience managing teams working on cloud-based infrastructure
• Experience overseeing teams that build data products and services in large scale data environments
• Experience managing a mid-size software engineering team and additional contract staff
• Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle
• Experience and/or knowledge of AI & Machine Learning, HIPAA, or EMR / EHR systems are all a plus
