Our Director of Engineering & Project Development will work out of our C&I Division, located in Nashville, TN. This role will have oversight and accountability for the teams responsible for the auditing, development engineering and estimating of energy efficiency and energy generation construction projects throughout the United States for the Company Healthcare Division. This will require collaboration with internal team members and external clients to drive efficiency and effective operations.
As the leader of the engineering and project development department, you must be an extremely effective communicator, disciplined in holding team members accountable, and willing to develop and implement operational structure improvements at every stage of our process. Your role will be to ensure that the Company provides excellent service and results for our clients while actively promoting effective handoff between the operations team functions with clear alignment with sales to optimize the resource utilization in support of our prioritized clients. Although your primary responsibilities will be that of a "coach/leader", you will be called on regularly to act as a "player/contributor" as business requirements dictate.

- Preparing, scheduling, coordinating and monitoring the assigned auditing, estimating and engineering of projects
- Working with sales to develop competencies in bundled opportunities
- Monitoring compliance to applicable codes, practices, QA/QC policies, performance standards and specifications
- Interact with Sales Leaders and Project Management Leader to interpret their needs and requirements and prioritizing resources to meet them
- Perform overall quality control of the work (budget, schedule, workload) and report regularly on the development status
- Review engineering deliverables and initiate appropriate corrective actions
- Review and respond to project RFI's as needed
Provide leadership, direction, accountability, and management support to ensure success with development of adjacent FIM's to support clients in reduction of energy footprint.
- Directing, coordinating, and monitoring the technology developments to add to our product offerings for clients
- Directing, coordinating, and monitoring the estimating of cost and savings for new measures
- Working with suppliers, technology experts and other divisions to develop opportunities for additional scope
- Interact with Project Management Leader to interpret construction estimating requirements and liaison with sales to advise on technical sales support for new measures
- Serve as the primary liaison for Sales Team, Project Management, Customers, Internal and External Resources, and Management regarding project development related items
- Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor and improve processes
- Collaborate with leadership to successfully execute the company's strategic goals to drive extensive and sustainable growth
- Coordinate with internal operations team and external partners to provide consistent customer service and to provide feedback supporting continuous improvement of the program
- Assist and attend regular and ad hoc management meetings
- Represent company at association and industry events to learn, develop, and educate team members as determined appropriate by management
- Any other job duties as assigned
- Availability for traveling on-site for duties or supervision as required which may require time afterhours or weekends
- Requires up to 2-3 days per week of travel which may include extended travel requirements of a week or more
- Although not regular, evening and weekend work may be required
- Must be able to climb ladders and stairs, comfortably lift 40+ pounds, and must be able to work on your feet for extended periods of time
- Operations Leaders work under a variety of conditions and in various settings, depending on the type of job and client
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or 10+ years of industry experience and professional engineering licensure
- Construction and project management experience in small to large scale facility projects including complex bundling of mechanical, electrical, automation
- Must be able to develop business processes and management of projects
- Skill in planning, organizing, directing and coordinating a wide variety of activities; developing, implementing and communicating policies and procedures for our organization; implementing fiscal management policies; analyzing data, making sound recommendations and adopting effective causes of action; working persuasively and tactfully with supervisors and line staff; supervision of specialized professional staff; communicating effectively both in oral and written form
- Advanced computer proficiency including MS Office Suite, Adobe, Zoom, SmartSheet
- Familiarity with rules, regulations, best practices and performance standards
- Ability to work with multiple discipline projects
