Director of Engineering Operations Maintenance

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The primary responsibilities of this role, Director of Engineering Maintanence, are to:

• Full member of the Plant Site Leadership team leading the strategy, culture, Key Performance Indicator (KPI) execution, and transformation of the largest Bayer Consumer Health factory;
• Collaborate to deliver the site operating efficiency journey and KPIs;
• Lead maintenance and reliability program for site;
• Lead the Site Engineering, Process Technology (PRT), and Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) functions at site;
• Build a preventative culture in HSE;
• Govern the financial stewardship ($16M USD annual budget);
• Partner with the Site Leadership team to define and implement a predictive reliability program, in addition to drive site KPI performance;
• Own and lead implementation of the site reliability strategy across functions, particularly with Manufacturing and Information Technology (IT);
• Partner with and support IT for Manufacturing Execution System (MES) operational integrity, validation, and upgrades;
• Responsible for resolving equipment issues while seeking new innovations and technology solutions for implementation;
• Lead continuous improvement of reliability associated with current products, future innovation, and future technology;
• Lead team responsible for new production readiness and launch including qualification and validation;
• Collaborate with Recognized and Generally Accepted Good Engineering Practices (R&D) and Product Protection to ensure runability of products to protect customer supply;
• Develop training strategy and objectives for the site in collaboration with function and department needs;
• Build proficient plans into annual function and individual objectives;
• Mature training, teach and coach Supply Center employees on operational excellence methodology, tool deployment, and change management,
• Take charge of site storerooms and maintain inventory management;

Your success will be driven by your demonstration of our life values, more specifically related to this position, Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:

Required qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 15 years experience or Master's degree with a minimum of 10 years experience in engineering, pharmaceutics, or sciences;
• Minimum of 10 years of engineering, process improvement, process reliability, and reliability engineering in a regulated industry with demonstrated progressive leadership experience;
• Must have in-depth local SOP Responsible Person (SME) experience in reliability engineering, maintenance, and process improvement within the Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) or Over-the-Counter (OTC) industry;
• Digitization skills essential for predictive reliability maintenance;
• Strong interpersonal and multi-discipline team skills for effective relationship management with internal and external business partners;
• Maintain proven experience to lead by influence across levels and functions;
• Demonstrate the ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing;
• Must be able to provide positive and constructive feedback to multiple teams, together with directing reports to ensure that company goals are achieved;
• Demonstrate performance driven attitude while leading a team.
