JOB FUNCTION:

The Director of Engineering is responsible to manage and continuously improve all engineering aspects of a multi-million-dollar rotating equipment and spare part engineering, manufacturing, marketing and sales organization.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

Ensuring a safe, OSHA, and environmentally complaint workplace.

• Ensuring safe and compliant design of equipment and services.

• Building, mentoring, and coaching the engineering organization to maximize morale, engagement and productivity ensuring that the organization and its customers receive exceptional engineering support.

• Utilizing visual metrics to provide constant feedback on performance vs plan and continuous improvement goals.

• Engineering department and project budgeting and forecasting.

• Customer specification review, support sales in the preparation of proposals

• Product development utilizing in house and contract engineering resources.

• Knowledge of processes and systems that CTPI's products are applied in or supported by.

• Review of customer specifications, sales support in preparing proposals and making technical presentations.

• Management of the test area and project functional testing requirements.

• Engineering support of operations, purchasing and quality assurance functions as required.

• Development of product application/sizing tools

• Ownership of relevant ISO processes including document control.

Required Skills, Experience and Behaviors:

• A minimum of 10 years of supervisory experience preferably in a high precision manufacturing environment.

• Knowledge of pumps, steam turbines, electric motors, pumping systems and competing pump manufacturers.
• Leadership and coaching skills to get the best out of his/her team.

• Root Couse analysis, problem solving and corrective action implementation

• Advanced engineering degree, MBA a plus.

• Extensive knowledge of relevant Industry standards, API, ASME welding and pressure vessel code requirements.

• Ability to read engineering drawings and specifications.

• Experience working within ISO or Military Standard Quality assurance systems.

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of programs.

• Continuous improvement mindset and drive

• Basic understanding of casting techniques and casting quality control

• Strong presentation and communication skills.

• Proficient in Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD

• Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally to customer locations and jobsites.

• Ability and desire to work in manufacturing and process plant environments.

Direct reports include: Product, Project and Operation support engineers.
