Description

This position will support the entire organization by managing the engineering team. Focus will be upon creation, management, upkeep and enforcement of timelines, tasks and deliverable oriented strategies for the purpose of meeting contractual needs. The ideal candidate for this position must have strong technical, engineering, scientific, and workplace problem solving skills. Moreover, the applicant must possess a keen sense of anticipation so as to foresee-and preemptively avoid-any timeline obstacles.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

The candidate will be responsible for the following:

• Lead and manage an engineering team consisting of 15-20 hardware and software engineers
• Supervise and create projects and schedules to timelines
• Conduct periodic performance reviews of subordinates
• Provide frequent progress updates to seniors and sales team
• Manage and recommend procurements for infrastructure (i.e., equipment, servers, etc.)
• Staying abreast of general security techniques and notions
• Use standard software/hardware engineering project management software and frameworks to direct and focus team efforts
• Oversee testing quality control (QC) team and its infrastructure and act as liaison between QC and development efforts

Job Skills

The candidate must possess the ability to work easily with interdisciplinary teams both in and outside of the organization. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge in the following areas:

• Software Engineering principles
• Hardware development environments
• Software & hardware testing framework design
• UNIX and RTOSes
• Microsoft operating systems
• FPGA firmware and micro controllers
• Computer Architecture and Organization
• Formal methodologies for engineering team management (with focus on deliverables and timeline optimization)

Experience and Qualifications

The candidate will do well do have the following experience and/or qualifications:

• Masters degree preferred (in any field)
• Preferred 15+ years of industry experience

The candidate must possess the

• Ability to obtain a United States DoD security clearance.
