Job Details


We are looking for a hands-on Director of Engineering to join our engineering team to develop, implement, optimize, and maintain hybrid cloud-based solutions and manage the internal Engineering team and outsourced development partners. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of cloud computing environments and relevant tech stacks and experience designing and implementing applications in the cloud.


In this role, your duties will include analyzing software performance and configuration systems and managing the deployment and integration of new software. This is a hands-on technical position that requires broad development competence, systems design, and strong experience with the Microsoft technology stack, managing large-scale application development efforts.


Job Summary


  • Lead, coach, develop and mentor software development team, set expectations, and oversee day-to-day activities.
  • Design, develop, document, and deploy features and applications in cloud environments and marketplaces.
  • Ensure application security, performance, uptime, and scalability.
  • Collaborate with the Innovation and Product teams on new features and functionality.
  • Resolve software deployment and integration errors and document processes.
  • Analyze use cases and determine system specifications prior to software development.
  • Demonstrate an ongoing passion for learning our platform, markets, and client use cases.
  • Manage and drive internal development efforts as required.
  • Keep abreast of new software technologies, as well as conform to best industry best practices.


Qualifications


  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or similar discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • 10+ years of software development experience, ideally in an Agile SaaS/product development company.
  • Previous work experience at payment services provider, fraud service, or data protection company.
  • In-depth understanding of web service protocols and REST API design and consumption.
  • Excellent .NET Core (C#) development and debugging skills.
  • Experience with both container and serverless computing.
  • AWS, Microsoft Azure, and GCP developer/architecture certifications preferred.
  • Knowledge of cloud data warehouses such as AWS Redshift and Snowflake desired.
  • Knowledge of best practices related to data encryption and cybersecurity a plus.
  • Experienced user of one or more Application Lifecycle Management tools (e.g., Rally, Jira).
