Job Summary:

The Development engineer will be responsible for developing and validating products, systems, and components. Analyzing and directing recommendations for problem resolution to the expectation of customers. Improving the performance and efficiency of existing products. Provide support to the new projects, reviewing project milestones and on completion.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Collaborating with sales and development to align project needs and goals and communicate progress and changes
• Making frequent assessments of project progress and successful on-time completion
• Manage activities & data of supporting project teams and internal development partners
• Communicate updates, program progress, issue analysis & escalations to management and other stakeholders on project status
• Define the product functional analysis (based on standard) to translate customer specifications and internal requirements into clear product performance criteria
• Support the creation and maintenance of process documentation associated with the analysis process
• Support reaching the quality, costs, and delivery targets of the program
• Contribute to continuous improvement activities
• Support and lead process improvement activities
• Write reports and present progress at project meetings and to clients
• Perform root cause analysis and resolve problems
• Liaise and communicate with other departments, customers, suppliers, and other service providers

Skills/Abilities:

• Strong problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
• Extensive knowledge of or the ability to quickly learn the organization's production processes
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to serve as a liaison with developers, project managers, and customer support
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
• Willing to travel as needed

Education/Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering
• Three to five years of automotive industry experience
• Bi-lingual (English - Japanese) is a plus
