Based in our CUDAHY, WISCONSIN location and working as part of the Engineered to Order (ETO) team, the designer prepares general arrangement (GA) and detailed production drawings for packaged systems, piping, parts, and components for fabrication to meet customer specifications and company standards of quality and manufacturability. Success in this position requires the candidate to work creatively in both collaborative and independent environments, be safety conscious, good social skills is a must, high attention to detail is critical, along with a strong motivation for delivering project objectives. As a Designer, You Will: Use Autodesk Inventor to craft and draw piping, packaged gas compression and industrial refrigeration systems, components, parts, equipment, etc. within customer specifications, and according to company standards. Prepare calculations such as shipping and operating weights, centers of gravity, etc. Read and interpret documents such as technical specifications, blueprints, and piping and instrumentation (P&I) drawings. Ability to write reports and documentation of processes and procedures. Ability to communicate efficiently with vendors, customers, and other employees of the organization. Prepare and issue Engineering Change Orders, accurate documentation and drawing packages for submittal, bills of materials, standard parts specifications, etc. Assist in coordinating, maintaining, and disseminating current design standards for the department. Participate on multi-functional teams to address and resolve issues and to ensure the continuous, ongoing improvement of processes and methods. Analyze project information, identify special requirements and connect with project engineers to settle exact specifications and resolve questions regarding product design. Coordinate and maintain all required documentation. Align with all quality and safety laws. Provide technical information concerning design and work closely with manufacturing personnel in resolving problems or making modifications during manufacturing. Redesign existing standard equipment, parts, components, etc, to reduce costs or increase quality. Keep informed of new parts or methods in the industry to improve products or product designs. Schedule The facility works 24 hours a day and typically 5 days a week. Our core office hours range anywhere between 7 am - 5 pm and are flexible given we work together to best support business demands as well as the needs of our customers around the world. Required Education, Experience & Skills: Two (2) year degree in Mechanical Design, or equivalent experience One to ten years 3D modeling experience is required (Autodesk Inventor preferred). Must be a team player, willing to learn from experienced staff and capable of introducing positive changes. Able to read and interpret documents such as technical specifications, blueprints, and piping and instrumentation (P&I) drawings. Ability to communicate effectively with vendors, customers, and other employees of the organization. Ability to travel up to 5% of the time Legal Authorization to work in the United States - Sponsorship will not be provided for this role.
