We are currently seeking a Design/Project Engineer to join our Engineering Department. The ideal candidate is a multi-talented engineer to work all aspects of the design, fabrication, assembly, calibration, and maintenance of environmental testing equipment. Please be aware that this is an onsite job role at our offices, located near Mopac and Braker by the Domain. Primary Responsibilities will be: Redesign or upgrade some existing lines of equipment from obsolete technologies to more current technologies. For example, replace through-hole PCB's with surface-mount, and upgrade software applications to current operating systems and/or mobile platforms. Evaluate failure rates and high maintenance parts and develop solutions or replacement parts. Work with internal staff and external consultants, contractors, engineers, machine shops, fabricators, software developers. Experience with data acquisition systems (pressure, level, temperature, acoustic, optics). Selected Candidate will be responsible for hands-on design, assembly, and repair/calibration, as well as project management of consultants/contractors/suppliers. This person will work in a small shop under the direction of the VP of Engineering. We are looking for someone who has: Experience with data acquisition systems (pressure, level, temperature, acoustic, optics). Experience with electro-mechanical systems. Experience with AC and DC circuits. Experience with basic plumbing, pressure, and vacuum principles. Experience with hazardous location equipment and designs (intrinsic safety, explosion-proof, purged/inerted). Experience with PCB Design & Layout, Firmware and App Development. A few of the requirements: BSME or BSEE or applicable skills and experience The position may be focused on either the electronics or mechanical components, but will need the skills to manage anyoutsourced portion. The ideal candidate will have skills in both areas This is a fulltime role with compensation being based on experience.
