Job Summary:

The Design Engineer will develop, design and document all components and assemblies used and created by Legend Manufacturing while innovating new models. Based on data gathered and expertise, the Design Engineer will also identify and recommend the most appropriate materials for specific applications.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Designs highly interactive products used to transport diverse cargo including enclosed cargo trailers, open utility trailers, and RV's in a wide range of weight ratings.
• Uses computer-assisted design (CAD) software to create preliminary and detailed drawings of the products.
• Produces specifications for products and chooses raw materials and components to be used in production.
• Studies products and components, makes comparisons with similar designs, drives innovation for future models.
• Collaborates with appropriate production and process staff to understand the specifications sought for a particular application or product.
• Utilizes software to identify and recommend best materials to be used based on weight, strength, heat and cold tolerance, cost, and durability.
• Observes or participates in product testing process as appropriate.
• Collaborates with Legend team to ensure successful launch of new products.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering
• Proficiency utilizing the CAD software, SolidWorks

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
• Must be able to access and inspect all areas of machinery throughout the production process.
