POSITION OVERVIEW
dormakaba is seeking a Design Engineer I to join our Product Development Center team in Reamstown, PA. This position is responsible for developing new products and making engineering changes to all design documentation. This role is critical to completing committed projects on schedule and supporting the ongoing business.
PRIMARY DUTIES
Creates and modifies 3D CAD models, drawings, ERP data, and parts lists / bills of material
Creates and maintains technical illustrations
Performs analysis of requested changes and proposes solutions
Reviews engineering change requests (CRs) for feasibility and processing of changes (CNs)
Works with Test Lab for validation testing and product certification of products
Promptly escalates to manager any foreseeable deviations from schedule/budget requirements
Identifies methods to reduce the cost and improve the quality and performance of dormakaba products
Assists in the investigation of quality and supplier issues
Supports Product Management, Customer Service, Technical Support, and Sales team members by answering questions to ensure customers will receive products that best meet their needs
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in relevant engineering or technical discipline required, or Associate's degree and 5+ years relevant work experience (Mechanical Engineering preferred)
Experience using 2D and 3D computer design packages
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical designs and drawings
Excellent English written and oral communication
Experience working in ISO 9001 and 14001 systems preferred
