Description:

Design Engineer will be designing Oil & Gas distribution lines with ArcGis or AutoCAD. 90% of the design work will be within ArcGIS. Engineer will be part of the new business division reviewing jobs that come from other departments and will need to determine what load a customer has, what delivery pressure is needed, obtain all necessary info to size a job. Will also do pressure drop calculations, spec sheets, and need to access flow valves to determine if existing pipe size is adequate for existing conditions. Will be reviewing drawings and technical equipment specs. Engineer will also be supporting the upgrading projects and helping with renewal projects. Design Engineer will need to understand 192 or B31 - A natural gas piping design standard. There are 4 divisions within design. Each division has 8 engineers and 3 NBCs and 2 design techs. Each engineer covers a certain territory (specific miles of pipeline). 70% of time will be spent in the office. 30% in the field. (roughly) May have to go in the field from time to time to review the pipelines and ensure the finished product fits the design standard.
