Job Overview
The Waldinger Corporation, a growing Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Sheet Metal industry leader, is adding an Ammonia Design Engineer to our Des Moines Industrial Refrigeration team!
In this role, you'll lead the creation and design of ammonia refrigeration engineering construction documents. This engineer will be crucial to the development and expansion of the team. Ideal candidates will have a background in engineering and have many years of success in the ammonia design industry.
Responsibilities:
Designs ammonia refrigeration systems, including piping sizing/layout, equipment and valve selections, and any other components required for a fully functional system.
Designs process flow diagrams as well as piping & instrumentation diagrams.
Leads peer review of design progress and coordinates with Operations Division on design and cost control-related matters.
Assist Operations in the creation of schematic budgets and system option life cycle costing.
Creates engineering cost estimates and monitors progress.
Creates PDF design sketches, supervises and reviews engineering modeling, and assists CAD Technician in determining conflict resolution.
Produces design calculations reports and documents release packages for coordination (schematic design, design development, construction documents, value engineering, etc.)
Engages customers & solicits their feedback on an ongoing basis.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in engineering
6+ years in an Ammonia Design related role
Licensed Professional Engineer
Must be detailed oriented
