Job Overview

D&C SENIOR SAFETY SPECIALIST

The D&C Department is responsible for ensuring the administration of applicable company policies, norms, and procedures, and the development of processes and training programs for the organization to ensure compliance with applicable S&E regulatory requirements and/or industry best practices.

RESPONSABILITIES:

  • Provide technical expertise to ensure compliance with all applicable internal and external Health & Safety regulations, and internal Policies, Norms, and procedures. Provide advice and guidance on interpretation/application of regulations and internal procedures related to Health & Safety. Must possess a strong understanding of OSHA regulations, including key elements of PSM/RMP.
  • Develop initiatives to improve safety culture within the company's business unit. Drive the development and continuous improvement of safety issues and initiatives.
  • Provide a visible presence at field locations and respond to Health & Safety concerns raised by managers and employees. Support S&E Field Coordinators.
  • Coordinate implementation and continuous improvement of company S&E Management Systems.
  • Maintain required safety and injury metrics for internal and external reporting and ensure incident tracking systems are accurately reflecting the business unit's performance.
  • Develop and coordinate required safety training programs, serving as a Subject Matter Expert on training requirements, frequency, and content. Deliver training as needed.
  • Interface with government agencies, as needed, to maintain regulatory compliance (audits, annual
  • reports, etc.).
  • Support the incident investigation process for Safety and PSM incidents including participation on investigation teams, writing investigation reports, and coordinating follow-up corrective actions.
  • Participate in emergency planning and preparation including drills and exercises and training programs. Provide response to incidents as required.
  • Provide HAZID/HAZOP and Risk Assessment support for all phases of development, including
  • Construction, Drilling & Completions, Production and Asset Retirement.
  • Provide support of PSM/RMP programs including participation in PHAs, PSM Audits, and regulatory inspections.
  • Participate in and identify improvement opportunities for Construction Plans, Engineering Projects,
  • Emergency Response and Fire Protection.
  • Consistently maintain and demonstrate a high regard for personal safety, for the safety of company assets, employees, and the public.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Strong knowledge in Upstream Oil & Gas Operations, specifically in Texas and Pennsylvania.
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Good teamwork capabilities, ability to work under pressure, responsibility, and flexibility
QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree in safety or health-related field, or equivalent professional experience.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum 5 years of successful work experience in an oil & gas safety position, or similar, with demonstrated growth in job responsibilities.
  • Strong oil and gas industry knowledge with experience supporting multiple facilities across a wide geographic area.
  • Experience in Emergency Response, OSHA compliance, and Haz-Mat.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively provide written and verbal communication with governmental agencies, Operations and Engineering personnel, and employees at all levels of an organization.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously
  • A strong team player
