The mission of the Customer Service Inside Sales Manager is to maintain customer satisfaction by providing problem-solving resources. Develop, coach, and empower direct reports so they can answer customer questions, efficiently and accurately. Effectively communicate company vision, values, and objectives to the team. Accomplish these objectives by hiring, training and empowering team members. Be an ambassador for company culture by leading by example with continual communication of the company behaviors/fundamentals.

This position is located in our Kent, WA office.

What you'll be doing:

  • Supervise a dynamic team of about 6-8 Customer Service Representatives who process transactional and project-based orders.
  • Monitor orders in queue to manage and delegate workload.
  • Take over escalations regarding customer issues, supplier questions, freight and returns.
  • Support incoming communications from Account Managers by directing to the appropriate person.
  • Identify needs for team training and process improvement, lead efforts to implement.
  • Conduct new hire and ongoing professional training for the team.
  • Create, manage, and track team KPIs and ensure the team is meeting minimum standards.
  • Conduct performance reviews, goal setting meetings and weekly one-on-ones.
  • Responsible for performance management including documentation, counseling and follow-ups.
  • Conduct interviews to support hiring and advancement within the Customer Service team.
  • Contribute to a positive working environment.

Requirements:

  • Outstanding attention to detail, with an emphasis on accuracy.
  • Excellent organization and prioritization skills for fast paced work environment.
  • Ability to demonstrate initiative and problem-solving skills with a focus on providing solutions.
  • Proficient computer skills including Word, Excel, Outlook, data entry, CRM and ERP systems.
  • A strong mathematical aptitude.
  • Data entry experience - Typing skills with a minimum of 45 wpm.
  • Proficient knowledge of accounting practices including budgeting and project financing.
  • Advanced knowledge and experience with shipping and logistics principles including LTL and full truckload management required.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 6 years customer service experience preferred.
  • Experience in a sales and service driven environment preferred.
  • Experience with accounting and inventory management software like Microsoft Dynamics GP is required.
