Controls Engineering Manager I

Summary: The Controls Engineering Manager I role is to support our Controls Automation team and customers throughout projects, upgrades, and ongoing service needs. This position will be responsible for all aspects of customer support (both internal and external) meeting scheduled deadlines, process improvement, resource allocation, obsolescence management among other

Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned

• Controls engineering projects, initiatives, and processes including coordination of engineering resources to meet project deadlines and requirements effectively
• Provide technical expertise within the engineering team and the project execution team
• Provide technical viability review
• Drive process improvements
• Develop enhancements to product lines
• Investigate and recommend production floor process changes
• Balance customer and company needs in support of the company's mission
• Provide planning and budgeting resources
• Manage staffing, training, and performance appraisals to develop and advance employees

General and Communication Skills:

• Ability to formulate standards for product line
• Strong knowledge of engineering principals ranging from theoretical to procedural
• Knowledge of commercial PLC and HMI programming languages, including Rockwell Logix/Studio 5000, Omron, Indusoft, Ignition, FTView 64. Siemens a plus.
• Knowledge of SCADA systems, architecture, and integration.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to sit for prolonged periods and occasionally walk, bend, and lift up to 25 lbs.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required.
• Proven ability to juggle multiple projects at a time, while maintaining sharp attention to detail
• Strong verbal and written communication skills

Computer Skills:

• MS Office 365

Education/Experience:

• B.S. or equivalent work experience, or combination of education and experience required
• 5-7+ years engineering or related work experience required
• Successful completion of early management skills courses, or plan to take within 6 months of position award
• 5+ years previous management experience
