SUMMARY

Agilyx is an environmental technology and development company located in Tigard, Oregon that extracts value from difficult-to-recycle mixed waste plastic streams. The Company has developed the first system capable of recycling polystyrene (rigid containers, foam cups, packaging materials, and Styrofoam) into styrene oil, which is then used to remake polystyrene (PS). The company has also commercialized a technology that converts mixed plastics to high quality VGO crude. Agilyx is working with waste service providers, municipalities, refiners, and private and public enterprises to develop closed-loop industrial solutions for mixed waste plastics.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Reporting directly to our Engineering Manager, your primary objective will be to design and implement cost-effective instrumentation systems that safely, reliably, and efficiently control process operations, in complete compliance with environmental, health and safety regulations.
- Design and develop control systems for the Agilyx process, utilizing good engineering practices
- Develop and maintain system architectures, utilizing integrated Rockwell Automation and Allen-Bradley solutions including related documentation such as standards, specifications, and management of change
- Identify and Implement alarm management systems
- Maintain database and reporting solutions, provide cost estimates, assess bids, and select automation and instrumentation related system components
- Support construction, commissioning, performance testing, and troubleshooting efforts at deployed facilities
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor of Science degree in an Electrical, Controls Automation Engineering or related discipline from an accredited university
- Minimum 5-years of experience developing and deploying controls systems implementing PLC, HMI, SCADA, database and reporting services, Rockwell Automation FactoryTalk products (PlantPAX), alarm management. Experience in petroleum, waste, energy, or plastics industry preferred
- Demonstrated skills in Advanced Process Control (APC), Distributed Control Systems (DCS), Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA)
- Experience in other common control systems is preferred (Emerson, Siemens)
- Demonstrated proficiency in root cause analysis
- Proven success in developing and executing complex control system projects, including objectives, scope, schedule, and deliverables
- Additional experience in other common control systems such as Emerson and Siemens)
- Demonstrated proficiency in root cause analysis.
- Experience and understanding server architecture and network design.
- Experience in petroleum, waste, energy, or plastics industry.
- Understanding design control panel and schematics
- Basic experience with electrical and instrumentation as can potentially be applied to commissioning or troubleshooting plant operations.
POSITION DETAILS
- Reports to: Director, Engineering
- Type: Salaried; full time with flexibility to be a hybrid role (remote/onsite-2/3 days per week) as required to meet the requirements of the role
