Job Overview
- Planning and design of small portions of a control system with supervision.
- Providing supervision to Applications programmers working on projects
- Modify program/system logic involving multiple systems and subsystems.
- Maintains confidentiality of potentially sensitive customer information.
- Must be available for occasional after-hours client support.
- Installation and troubleshooting of PC/PLC hardware and software, and customer networks.
- Capable of installing and starting up a control system on a customer's site without direct supervision.
- Perform in-house and in-plant customer operator training for the control system.
- Participate in check-out, commissioning, and startup
- Required base knowledge of the two of the areas listed below
- PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) configuration and programming
- Hardware set-up and / or the HMI (Human Machine Interface) installation and programming
- PC Configuration
- Data Management and storage (database / historian / etc)
- Industrial and Ethernet network understanding and design
- Function and configuration of Variable Frequency Drive / soft starts / electronic overloads.
- Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES)
- Travel will be required to install control systems, and to provide plant start-up services at Customer sites.
- The amount of travel will vary according to business requirements. Up to 35% may be expected.
- While on a jobsite, there is potential for overnight shifts.
- Expectation is to be in the office 3 out of 5 days unless otherwise approved
- Minimum (2) years professional experience
- Associate degree in Computer Studies; Instrumentation and Controls; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office software suite required
- Possess experience in programming in the Industrial Environment
- Possess experience implementing Industrial Control Software (Startup)
- Possess experience in dealing with customers regarding system requirements
- Excellent organizational skills and mechanical inclination.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to handle multiple tasks
- Excellent attention to detail
- Willing and able to learn new technologies quickly.
