Job Overview
Makers Line is a multi-faceted general contractor specializing in multi-family, adaptive reuse, tenant improvement, parking structures, ground-up, new core/shell, and site infrastructure. This position is responsible for coordinating the design and construction of non-complex and complex projects construction projects involving supervision for review of schedules, project status, progress, and cost projections. This role further develops interpersonal and technical skills and maintains all necessary correspondence and documentation for a successful project.
CONSTRUCTION PROJECT MANAGER JOB SUMMARY
- Prepares and reviews in detail all conceptual and detailed estimates and reviews.
- Participates in owner contract negotiation
- Participation in writing proposals and may co-sign them with the project manager
Assists or manages the design aspect of assigned projects with the goal of ensuring. The budget, schedule, quality, and customer satisfaction goals are met.
- Coordination with design job captain to ensure the preparation of proposal and working drawings for assigned project.
- Reviews construction and shop drawings for build-ability, errors, or other details related to construction and keep a detailed log.
- Assists in writing specifications to assigned projects
Assists or manages construction and close-out on assigned projects with the goal of ensuring that budget schedule and customer satisfaction goals are met.
- Initiates or participates in subcontract and supplier contact
- Assists in the preparation of job schedules
- Reviews drawings, budgets, and other project-related matters with the job site superintendent
- Reports current costs projections to supervisor on a monthly or more frequent basis and assists project manager with other cost projects
- Negotiates owner change orders
- Negotiates writes, and signs Change orders with subcontractors.
- Works with governmental agencies to aid project success or resolve job problems
- Shares job cost responsibility through monitoring budgets and schedules resolving problems, and writing job cost and status reports
- Works to optimize team effectiveness and helps coordinate the project team
Develops and maintains a productive working relationship with team and company personnel
- Confers with supervisor in reviewing schedules, cost and sales decisions when necessary
- Initiates meetings to keep supervisor informed of project status and progress

CONSTRUCTION PROJECT MANAGER SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
• Strong organizational skills
• Superior analytical aptitude
• Strong communication skills, both writing and oral, and the ability to communicate effectively to a wide variety of people.
• Self-starting and driven
• Must be honest and prepared to work in a team environment
• Proficient in MS Suite, specifically MS Excel and MS Project
• Ability to lift, push or pull a minimum of 20 lbs.
• Hearing and visual ability to detect potential hazards and other construction safety hazards.
• Spoken and written fluency in English

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Architecture, or related area
- A minimum of two years of experience in construction is required (preferably in commercial construction)
