Job Overview

Position Summary

As a Project Engineer based on site, you will support the Superintendent and Project Manager to ensure that the project meets the goals of being high quality, on schedule, at or below budget, & safe. The Project Engineer must be adaptable and hands-on to promote teamwork, leadership, effective communication, and customer satisfaction.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Manages Requests for Information (RFIs) including drafting, distributing to proper consultant or architect, soliciting responses from responsible parties, and issuing confirming RFI for all verbal directives to make project changes.
  • Receives, reviews, coordinates, obtains proper approvals, and distributes project submittals to subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Reviews and understands all subcontracts and assists the Superintendent and Project Manager in enforcing all subcontracts appropriately.
  • Manages equipment and material deliveries and coordinates with subcontractors for proper receiving and storage.
  • Assists the Superintendent with procurement and management of Division 1 services.
  • Reviews subcontractor safety manuals to ensure compliance with Life Time Construction's Safety Program.
  • Performs safety inspections, at a weekly minimum, documents deficiencies assigns responsibilities for corrections, distributes notices, and ensures deficiencies are corrected.
  • Communicates all safety audits, incident or injury reports, and correction notices as required.
  • Maintains organized, efficient, current, and up-to-date files and records for the field office.
  • Assists the Superintendent in maintaining the master project schedule with distributing weekly updates, and three-week look ahead schedules to subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Participates in the weekly subcontractor meeting and assists the superintendent by recording and distributing meeting minutes.
  • Assists the Superintendent in ensuring the finished project meets or exceeds the quality requirements in the project plan specifications and approved submittals.
Position Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Project Management or Engineering
  • Entry level to 2 years of commercial construction experience
  • Successful completion of OSHA 30
  • 100% Travel and relocation to assigned project site
