Construction Manager

Summary of Position:

The Construction Manager is directly responsible for all of the construction activities on a project site. Most of our projects are between $3-10M for the Federal Government. Candidates should have completed the USACE QCM course and OSHA 30 Hr classes. Construction Managers are responsible for onsite scheduling and coordination of self-performed and subcontracted activities. The Construction Manager will lead and manage the on-site construction team and oversee all work on site. Construction Manager will be responsible for orderliness on site and ensure compliance with safety regulations. Prepare quality control reports on a daily basis and submit them to the client, as well as prepare weekly and monthly reports as required by the company. Responsible for performing safety management, surveillance, inspections, and safety enforcement. Familiarity with DOD/ NAVFAC/ USACE construction requirements to include EM 385-1-1 and applicable OSHA regulations. Construction Manager will ensure quality standards are met, and all equipment and materials are available on site at all times. Key focus is on delivering and executing work in a positive, professional manor. Customer satisfaction is the measure of our success.

Role requires the ability to move from site to site, across states, and several projects while maintaining quality service and support.

Position Responsibilities
  • Supervise all activities related to the daily construction operations on the project.
  • Ensure all activities that occur on the project location are executed in accordance with required safety standards
  • Leading and managing the on-site construction team. Set standards on operational processes and provide onsite training.
  • Attending production meetings.
  • Oversee the scheduling and coordination of the project.
  • Monitor all job site operations for compliance with contract requirements.
  • Maintain communications with Project Manager to ensure proper coordination of the project among the on-site office, job site operations and subcontractors/suppliers for the project in order to ensure all project deadlines are achieved.
  • Ability to work with numerous contractors and sub-contractors in an efficient manner
  • Perform duties as Quality Control Manager and Site Safety/Health Officer as required.
  • Responsible for implementing and maintaining the Quality Control Program to ensure all work is performed in accordance with the plans, specifications and the approved Quality Control Plan.
  • Review all QC issues with Operations at all stages of construction
  • Monitors contract documents for discrepancies as the work is installed and notifies appropriate persons of conflicts
  • Placing orders for materials and being responsible for equipment and materials on site.
  • Monitoring and ensuring on-site safety compliance, cleanliness, and orderliness.
  • Coordinate and conduct safety meetings and inspections, to include materials, agendas, minutes, and attendance. Maintain a written log.
  • Serve as liaison for workers' compensation reporting, case management, and recordkeeping.
  • Oversee and maintain records for site personnel such as daily field reports, field orders and RFIs for each job.
  • Experience working on smartphones and tablets
  • OSHA 30, First Aid/CPR, and Construction Quality Management Certifications as required
Experience and/or Qualifications
  • 10+ years' experience as a Construction Manager in the construction industry preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or equivalent combination of training and experience is a plus
  • Physical ability to oversee project activities as related to the position, including travel to multiple project sites.
  • Understands federal DOD government contracting requirements
  • OSHA 30
  • Familiar with the requirements of EM 385-1-1, and have experience in the areas of hazard identification, safety compliance, and sustainability.
