Job Overview
Our Telecom division needs a Construction Manager to join the team! The successful candidate will be responsible for providing project support in the areas listed below. We provide our clients with fast, efficient, and cost-effective service. Therefore, we're looking for an ambitious individual to provide our clients with the support and direction they need.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for site construction support may include supervising of installation of towers, mounts, antennas, feed lines, electronic cabinets, shelters, etc., generators, HVAC, and fireproofing.
Completes required reports and other paperwork.
Closely adheres to all safety standards and procedures. Identifies gaps in safety standards as well as safety risks in the environment and provides recommendations to higher level technical staff and management.
Reads and implements project drawings and specifications.
Identifies essential materials and tools to carry out scope of work.
Assist client with equipment orders, managing warehouse inventory, and return of used/unused site equipment.
Identify and approve qualified construction general contractors to utilize on projects.
Submit bid documents to approved general contractors and coordinate all aspects of the bid process, including scheduling the bid walk, review of bids, production of a bid package, and contractor recommendation.
Create and manage the construction schedule for each site. The schedule will consider permitting, materials availability, contractor availability, utility provisioning as required, network deployment timing, cost efficiency, property owner availability, and any other variables.
Administer the construction contract for the accuracy of bid package to actual cost and schedule adherence as reasonably possible.
Perform and/or supervise a feasibility walk to determine whether the proposed site may be properly constructed according to quality and technical standards.
Communication with client operations and systems performance personnel before starting any site work, mobilize general contractors, and manage completion of site work in continuous communication with client personnel. Provide post-work summaries immediately upon project completion and procure closeout packages to client specifications.
Preparation of a punch list for overall construction completion, and management of contractors to have same completed. Ensure that the construction contractors obtain all proper inspections and final sign-offs, recorded easements etc. Finalize and present a complete closeout package.
Prepare and update site status reports, databases, and project forecast reports.
Develop new business opportunities with clients.
Qualifications:
Experience using basic power tools.
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow directions.
Able to effectively collaborate with employees at all professional levels and ability to respectfully follow supervision.
Thorough knowledge of MS Office suite. Database, customer tracking systems experience a plus.
Must have reliable transportation and being willing to travel to sites/work remotely.
Driving record must meet Advantage Engineers insurance standards and must maintain a valid state Driver's License.
Passed initial background check and substance screening.
Associates degree desired.
OSHA 10 and/or OSHA 30 is a plus.
CPR/First Aid is a plus.
Knowledge in a Technical Trade, Maintenance, Electrical, Instrumentation and/or Operations is a plus.
Strong interpersonal and customer relations skills are highly desired.
Ability to create detailed and concise reports and tracking tools for all aspects of the project is a plus.
Demonstrated management experience including scope management, project scheduling, budgeting, and contracting, along with a successful track record in the management of similar projects.
