Assist supervisors and managers in identifying and mitigating potentially hazardous conditions. Help the organization maintain a safe and healthy workplace. Purpose and Scope Provide inspection services to assigned construction projects, with focus on Electrical systems. Working in a team environment for assigned projects, must be able to understand technical nature of job tasks including documentation, coordination and close out functions as detailed in organizational processes. Job Duties and Essential Responsibilities 1. Maintain a daily log for work executed on assigned construction projects. 2. Documentation of all project activities such as conformance with government approvals of safety plans and environmental regulations. Report variances to NASA COR. 3. Conduct pre-activity coordination meetings for various activities such as outages/building impacts and assist in the coordination of various project activities to ensure customer satisfaction. Track shop support activities versus funding. 4. Review for compliance installed work conforms to the contract, specifications, drawings/plans, special provisions, and code. 5. Review and analyze contractor construction schedules and pay applications to ensure percent complete accuracy. 6. Participate and provide feedback for feasibility studies, design reviews, preconstruction planning, regularly scheduled project status meetings, and punchlist/closeout activities. 7. General understanding of the project delivery process and interaction between disciplines within the project team and will work closely with customer and their assigned representative. Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested. Education and Experience Requirements Associate's degree in engineering, construction management or related field and five (5) years experience within various construction disciplines or trades. Equivalent education/experience is applicable. Electrical: Solid understanding of construction practices specifically in Facility Electrical Systems and Infrastructure inspection experience on government construction projects. Good communications and analytical skills; working knowledge of computer systems and integrated software application programs. Position may require travel. Position may require the ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance. Preferred Qualifications: May require some limited travel. May require the ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance. Other Requirements: Must be able to obtain and maintain required Government clearances/badges as required by program and position Must have the ability to communicate in English, both verbal and written in an effective manner. Must have and maintain a valid driver's license. Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands: This position involves work typical of an office environment with no unusual hazards; occasional lifting to 20 pounds; constant sitting with use of computer terminal; constant use of sight abilities while reviewing documents; constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication; constant mental alertness; must possess planning/organizing skills and must be able to work under deadlines. Field work will consist primarily of site walk downs in support of design projects and system trouble shooting Site hazard training and Personal Protective Equipment are provided.
