Job Overview

Designs and analyzes temporary works designs for assigned construction projects to ensure constructability with contract documents, specifications and regulatory requirements.

Provides constructability and technical design input on temporary works construction designs to ensure compliance with contract specifications and regulatory requirements.
Designs and drafts construction methods for temporary works (falsework, shoring, temporary bridges, formwork, slopes, etc.), ensuring completeness and accuracy with regulatory standards and within the contract specifications.
Reviews personal and peer design elements to optimize project constructability, cost effectiveness and material quantities.
Submits designs for peer review or approval review in an accurate and timely manner to avoid construction delays on the project site. Senior engineer or manager to seal designs following approval review.
Maintains knowledge of Flatiron's company values and strategic plan.
Support published corporate policies.
Perform additional assignments per management's direction.

Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Structural or related Engineering field required.
Professional Engineer (PE or PENG) preferred.
Engineer in Training (EIT) or Engineer Intern (EI) required.
Minimum of 3 years' experience required.
Master's Degree Required,
Geotechnical engineering experience preferred.
Must be a professionally licensed Civil Engineer in the US.
Experience in modern construction practices and constructability concerns.
Experience with US/Canadian design codes and standards.
Experience with using design software such as Shoring Suite, Slope/W, LPIle, GRLWEAP, etc.
Autocad experience preferred.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Knowledge and skill in technical writing for clear and efficient communication and understanding.
Knowledge and understanding of constructability and construction practices.
Ability to multi-task and self-prioritize work.
Verbal, written and interpersonal skills required.
Knowledge of AutoCAD, RISA, LARSA and MathCAD are a plus.
