Zurich North America is hiring a Construction Casualty Underwriting Manager to join our National Accounts team in Atlanta! We are also open to hiring talent in Charlotte, Orlando or Tennessee.

As a member of Zurich's Underwriting management team, you will enjoy the opportunity to fully apply and hone your underwriting management and marketing skills. Specifically, you will manage a market facing underwriting unit, and aid in making appropriate underwriting decisions.

In this role you will be responsible for:

• Managing up to 8-10 market facing underwriters who proactively seek renewal and new account opportunities.
• Identifies new growth opportunities with key distributors for areas of responsibility.
• Ensure that accounts are qualified, and meet with the organization's appetite, balanced with sound business opportunity.
• Along with underwriters in areas supervised, make agents/broker/customer and on-sight calls with a planned and well-prepared purpose.
• Oversee negotiations of Terms & Conditions and closes deals.
• Ensure cross-sell within areas of responsibility to increase product density with the account.
• Provide continuous coaching on sales best practices, mentor staff to develop strong broker and client networks as related to industries underwritten by Business Unit.
  

Basic Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent and 7 or more years of experience in the Underwriting or Market Facing area
  OR
• High School Diploma or Equivalent and 14 or more years of experience in the Claims or Underwriting Support area
  OR
• Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree and 5 or more years of experience in the Underwriting or Market Facing area
  AND
• 2 or more years of management experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelors Degree
• CPCU
• Advanced knowledge of Construction Casualty product lines and commercial insurance industry
• Advanced knowledge of Loss Sensitive accounts
• Experience working with Wrap Ups
• Strong Broker relationships in Southeast Region
• Excellent communication skills
• Excellent skills in relationship building
• Strong presentation skills
• Results oriented
