About the Job
Concrete finishers pour, level, and smooth concrete for surfaces such as roads, curbs, floors, and sidewalks.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Set the forms that hold concrete to the desired pitch and depth and align them.
- Check the forms that hold the concrete to see that they are properly constructed.
- Spread, level and smooth concrete, using rake, shovel, hand or power trowel, hand or power screed and float.
- Monitor how the wind, heat or cold affect the curing of the concrete throughout the entire process.
- Direct the casting of the concrete and supervise laborers who use shovels or special tools to spread it.
- Maintains working knowledge of materials, methods and the tools involved in working with concrete.
- Works on more than one task at a time.
- Adapts quickly to changing conditions.
- Works both part of a team and with minimum supervision.
- Performs repetitive work.
- Maintains composure in stressful situations.
- Reports to work on time and as scheduled.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Thorough understanding of the correct and safe operation of all related tools and equipment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to draw accurate sketches to communicate the specifications for projects.
- Ability to take accurate measurements and calculations.
Required
- Proven experience working as a Concrete Finisher or Concrete Laborer.
- Valid driver's license.
Fulltime/Hourly - $23.00, plus PTO and Insurance
