About the Job

Concrete finishers pour, level, and smooth concrete for surfaces such as roads, curbs, floors, and sidewalks.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Set the forms that hold concrete to the desired pitch and depth and align them.
• Check the forms that hold the concrete to see that they are properly constructed.
• Spread, level and smooth concrete, using rake, shovel, hand or power trowel, hand or power screed and float.
• Monitor how the wind, heat or cold affect the curing of the concrete throughout the entire process.
• Direct the casting of the concrete and supervise laborers who use shovels or special tools to spread it.
• Maintains working knowledge of materials, methods and the tools involved in working with concrete.
• Works on more than one task at a time.
• Adapts quickly to changing conditions.
• Works both part of a team and with minimum supervision.
• Performs repetitive work.
• Maintains composure in stressful situations.
• Reports to work on time and as scheduled.
• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• Thorough understanding of the correct and safe operation of all related tools and equipment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to draw accurate sketches to communicate the specifications for projects.
• Ability to take accurate measurements and calculations.

Required

• Proven experience working as a Concrete Finisher or Concrete Laborer.
• Valid driver's license.

Fulltime/Hourly - $23.00, plus PTO and Insurance
