Job Overview
JOB DESCRIPTION: Community Manager & Yoga Instructor
Part-time: 20 hrs/week $25-35/hr DOE
Location: Newark, NJ
BetterSpaces creates programming and amenities that build well-being, community, and creativity. We are currently hiring for a several new roles. This is a part-time position with room to grow.
Role & responsibilities:
- Oversee all day-to-day activity in the amenity center. Ensure that all visitors have what they need, enjoy their time, and will recommend the space to others.
- Promote and manage events and classes to office managers and directly to tenants who use the space. Ensure they are well-executed and attended.
- Ensure that tenants know how to sign up for our events and classes.
- Establish relationships with tenants. Follow up with individual participants to make sure they enjoyed their experience, ask what events they would like to see, see if they have any questions.
- Connect with the Building Managers and teams to be up to date on other happenings in the building. Be the go-to person for building updates and information.
- Connect with the building security, freight and maintenance staff and create a positive working relationship with them to facilitate smooth operations.
- Be the BetterSpaces liaison with the building for day-to-day issues.
- Take photos to share with the BetterSpaces team.
Experience and Requirements
- Experience leading and facilitating groups
- College graduate with 4-year degree a plus, but not required
- Customer service, event production, or hospitality management experience a must
- Yoga, pilates or fitness certification or similar
- Proficiency in English
- You are independent and reliable -- you'll be on your own with building tenants and operators for most of the day, so it's important that you're able to take initiative, make judgment calls, and get things done!
- You are punctual and great at managing your own time while sticking to a designated schedule.
- You solve problems always with a focus on tenant services.
- Strong writing and computer skills
- Ability to lift 20 lbs.

What will you be doing here?
Our Community Managers are essential to the entire BetterSpaces platform. As the link between Better Spaces HQ and tenants in our partner buildings, You are the face of BetterSpaces within the partner building and are responsible for executing our vision with positivity, energy, courtesy, and professionalism. You work well "in the field" and enjoy sharing learnings back with the rest of the team even though you don't work at HQ.
