Job Overview
A D. C. Taylor Co. service project supervisor is responsible for leading a service team of one or two service technicians to perform work safely and productively per specifications and to the standards of the customer and D. C. Taylor Co. The service project supervisor will perform many commercial and industrial roofing services including leak calls, maintenance and repairs, tenant improvements, and small commercial roofing projects. These roofing services will be performed on a variety of roofing systems including BUR, cold and torch-applied assemblies, coatings, EPDM, foam, metal, and single-ply. Service work can vary in size from preventive maintenance and housekeeping, to minor repairs, re-roofs, and new construction installations up to 2,500 square feet.
This position requires excellent customer service skills and demands customer satisfaction. Additionally, this position may include extensive driving and/or travel. At times, out of town or overnight travel is required on short notice. Other service technician duties include, but are not limited to:
Perform job hazard analysis (JHA), submit required daily documentation, and account for materials and equipment required for work orders.
Perform pre-job roof inspections and stage roof areas with equipment and required materials.
Inspect safety equipment daily and ensure all company equipment is in safe working condition.
Shares driving and required DOT documentation responsibilities with service team.
Assure that all work is completed per customer requirements.
Keep work area safe and maintained with good housekeeping practices.
Lead regular meetings with assigned service team to discuss job site safety, project progress, and schedule.
Motivates service team to perform above D. C. Taylor Co. and customer expectations; must desire to work with others to accomplish service department goals; ability to maneuver schedules, details, and outcomes of assigned service team.
Must be able to execute and teach others to execute roof system installation and repair/maintenance techniques.
Requirements
Commercial roofing field experience or formal technical training.
High school education or GED.
Current valid driver's license.
Ability to use/learn business technology.
English fluency.
Capable of working at elevations and performing strenuous activity relative to staging, carrying, and disposing of roofing material and equipment.
Ability to travel on short notice, up to one week at a time.
Preferred
OSHA 30-hour certification.
Bilingual in English and Spanish.
Specialized training: crane CCL, forklift, rigging, aerial work platform, roof system specific training, CERTA, etc.
