Job Overview

Job Description Our well-established Financial Advisory team at Ameriprise Financial is looking to hire the right individual who has old world work ethic with a new world technology skill set. This person will help service and grow our thriving financial advisory practice. The ideal individual is interested in the financial planning industry and has strong ethics, good communication skills, and is willing to learn and grow. The responsibility of this 20-25 hour/week part-time role is to provide key support to two financial advisors and exceptional service to their 500+ clients. Preferred Qualifications Detail Oriented - Pays strong attention to details and has strong organization skills Problem Solving Abilities - Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner, gathers and analyzes information skillfully, asks for help when needed Interpersonal Skills - Uses effective communications with clients/advisors/staff, listens and gets clarification, responds well to questions, maintains confidentiality Written Communication - Writes clearly, accurately, and informatively, varies writing style to meet needs, ability to read and interpret complex written information Quality - Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness, looks for ways to improve and promote quality and efficiency Self- Management - Effectively and efficiently manages time, ability to multi-task, understanding of task prioritization, and willingness to constantly learn and grow Technology - Strong technology skills and interest, proficient at using MS Word and Excel, and interest in learning internal systems Dependability - Team player with old fashioned work ethic and integrity Compliance - Willingness to adhere to compliance rules and regulations as stated and required by advisor, Ameriprise Financial, and FINRA Responsibilities Investigate and troubleshoot client service issues, involving contacting corporate office personnel when appropriate Correspond professionally and clearly with clients via phone and email and process requests within compliance guidelines Create forms and documents for client/advisor signatures Oversee and provide direction to interns who also support the advisors Utilize client management systems for tracking client data and interactions Office management such as greeting clients, ordering supplies, handling mail Some calendar management and scheduling client appointments Perform other duties as assigned by the financial advisors Prepare necessary client meeting materials Complete meeting follow-up items as assigned by the financial advisors Assist with adherence to compliance requirements within the practice Coordinate marketing efforts and programs using corporate office tools and processes Required Qualifications Experience in the financial services industry preferred but not necessary. FINRA SIE, Series 7, Series 66 and insurance licenses are optional. If candidate wants to pursue obtaining financial industry licensing, advisors are open to allowing on the job study time and would consider paying for class and licensing fees. If candidate is interested in growing into becoming advisor him/herself, advisors would help him/her advance in that process. Hours - starting at 20-25 hours per week, may grow to 40 hours per week based on desire and growth within the role. Benefits available if working 30 or more hours per week. This position is in the office and does not offer a work from home or hybrid option. Starting hourly wage is $25/hour.
