Job Overview
Overview:
The PIP Claim Representative with Pilgrim Insurance will handle PIP claims involving routine coverage and damage issues. In this position, you will review assigned claims for PIP and Med Pay policy coverages, including the understanding and application of policy exclusions.
Responsibilities:
Understand personal lines and commercial lines automobile coverages; adhere to the policy contract including related coverages, exclusions, etc.
Contact insureds, attorneys and other parties in conformance with Commonwealth Automobile Reinsurers' (CAR) guidelines to gather required information.
Send lost wage forms to employers and request disability statements as required.
Schedule independent medical exams and discuss requirements with providers.
Pay submitted bills according to established procedures.
Answer questions from insureds, claimants, attorneys, and others to resolve problems within established levels of authority.
Develop and maintain case files that document all actions.
Provide excellent customer service.
Requirements and skills:
Team player; excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skill
Demonstrated level of competency in time management, priority setting, action orientation and customer focus.
Education and Experience:
BA/BS degree preferred
1 or more years of claims handling experience preferred
Commercial automobile experience preferred
