Job Overview
We're seeking the right person to join our team as our newest Civil/Structural Engineer
Lighthouse Safety is a turnkey engineered fall protection solutions provider. A team that is globally recognized for its excellence in fall protection training, consulting, design, engineering, installation, and inspection.
The Civil/Structural Engineer will prepare calculations, drawings, and specifications for the design of fall protection systems, and ensure that these systems are in compliance with all applicable local, design, and fall protection codes and standards. The candidate will make field visits when required to obtain required information to prepare designs. The candidate will work with sales, project managers, supply chain, quality assurance, and fabrication to ensure that the designs are optimized to provide the best solution available. The Civil/Structural Engineer will deliver a superior service in a fast-paced environment that meets or exceeds expectations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for over-all structural and civil design of projects
Reviews project specifications for accuracy and consistency with design and fall protection codes
Reviews product design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer contract requirements, and related specifications
Drafting solutions and packages for each project, including As-Builts.
Evaluates and approves design changes, specifications, and drawing releases
Works closely with other departments within the Company to identify and resolve problems and suggests alternatives when necessary
Must be proficient with the design and analysis of steel structures and concrete foundations
Must be familiar with the design and analysis of wood, aluminum, and masonry structures
Must be proficient in the design and detailing of standard and custom connections including bolted and welded connections
Requirements: Skills, Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university in an ABET accredited engineering degree program; must be a Professional Engineer
Minimum of 3 years of experience in civil/structural engineering after obtaining P.E.
NCEES Record is a plus
Competence in the use of the AISC specifications for steel structures
Competence in the use of the AISI specifications for cold-formed steel
Competence in the use of the ACI-318 specifications for reinforced concrete
Experience in reading geotechnical reports and designing foundations
Familiarity with AWS D1.1, D1.2, and D1.6 Standards and Specifications
Qualified in the use of general structural engineering programs
Proficiency in AutoCad
Experience with wood and masonry design is a strong plus
Must have good verbal and written communication skills in terms of general communications as well as technical ideas, concepts, and details
Must be able to work at height and take field measurements
Must be able to obtain certification to operate lifts and other similar equipment
