Our Civil Engineering Department is seeking a self-motivated, organized, civil/site development project manager to join our team and help to grow our Mid-Atlantic office in Washington, DC. We are looking for someone with at least 10 years of experience in the preparation of civil/site construction documents and permitting submissions (local, state and federal) associated with a variety of land development projects. You must have strong technical, communication, and organizational skills, can lead multiple project teams, have knowledge of project management roles and responsibilities and a history of successful client management. You should have a strong desire to advance your career, train/mentor junior staff and help drive a growing company.
In this role you will work closely with the Mid-Atlantic Regional Manager and the Director of Civil Engineering to manage multiple land development projects, perform technical quality control reviews, develop new business, prepare proposals and budgets, supervise/train/mentor civil engineers and designers working on your projects, prepare and oversee the preparation of engineering designs and calculations; prepare and oversee the preparation of construction documents, specifications and engineering reports, prepare and oversee the preparation of permitting submissions, utilize and/or have a working knowledge of engineering software including CADD, HydroCAD, Bluebeam and SSA, provide and oversee construction administration services.
Although the day-to-day responsibilities of this position are internally focused on project and staff management, one or more of the following are a plus:
Interest and experience in business development as a seller-doer
Experience with higher education academic clients
Experience with campus planning with a focus on sustainability/resiliency
Experience with complete streets and other sustainable transportation projects
This position may also offer opportunities to play a key role in office operations for the right candidate.
A BS in Civil Engineering and registration as a Professional Engineer are required for this position.
