You will be proud to be a part of a company built on Leading with Science The successful candidate for this position will report to either the Seattle or Portland office (with potential for full-time remote work), providing engineering analysis and design on a variety of civil and/or mechanical engineering and fisheries related projects. Primary responsibilities include design of process water supply and treatment systems, utilities, wastewater, hydraulics, and coordination of design team activities. This includes preparation of construction documents and providing assistance with construction administration and commissioning of the facility. Typical projects may include conservation and enhancement hatcheries, research facilities, acclimation facilities, fish passage, fish collection and sorting, and aquaculture water treatment. We are seeking a motivated individual who will go beyond design to develop relationships with existing and potential fishery clients. Interested candidates with strong management, general civil or process mechanical experience will be considered for in-house training in the fisheries discipline. Your Role: Perform conceptual and detailed design calculations and analyses. Prepare detailed engineering reports and supporting documents. Prepare construction drawings, specifications, and cost estimates. Support development of permitting related documents Ensure use of standard engineering practices and inclusion of appropriate documentation on reports and design projects. Evaluate alternatives, resolve technical issues and interface with other engineering disciplines. Perform engineering interpretation of specifications and drawings, recommending and documenting design modifications, and coordinating with the design team. Resolve questions, plan, coordinate, and execute work in a safe, timely, cost effective and compliant manner. Participate in marketing efforts related to capturing new work including lead and/or assistant in writing proposals and participating in project interviews. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications: Professional Engineering Registration required. 4 to 8 years of experience with fisheries and natural resources-related projects desired. Experience with AutoCAD and Revit desired. Experience with hydraulic modeling software desired. Strong project management background preferred.
