We are looking for a candidate to join our Civil Engineering Department with a solid technical background, 0-4 years of work experience, and the desire to contribute in a team environment to advance their career. The desire to learn about the preparation of civil/site construction documents associated with various land development projects, including sustainable site solutions, site grading, and site utility and stormwater management systems is a must. A basic knowledge of AutoCAD and/or Civil 3D and HydroCAD software is helpful but more importantly the drive to learn how we use these software packages is required.
A Civil Project Designer works closely with the development project team, including Project Engineers, Project Managers, and our Clients on a variety of public and private development projects. To have fun in this position, you should be interested in expanding your Civil Engineering design and permitting knowledge and working on multiple projects at once closely with others in a collaborative team atmosphere to produce deliverables. The majority of your time as a project designer at Nitsch will be spent learning about and designing sustainable sites, including stormwater drainage, domestic water, and sanitary sewer design solutions as well as permitting for public, commercial, and institutional site design. At times, Civil Project Designers will have the opportunity to gain construction observation or site evaluation experience in the field. Effective communication skills and the ability to meet deadlines are necessary. A BS in Civil Engineering is required. Must have either taken or plan to take the FE test in the near future.
