About the Opportunity
Our fast-paced Vancouver office is looking to hire a highly capable Civil Engineering Technologist to join our Infrastructure team, working to complete designs from high-level conceptual through to detailed design drawings and deliver projects such as hospitals, universities and civic facilities. This team is an integral part of our practice and focuses on developing infrastructure solutions that improve the quality of life in communities across BC. This opportunity will give you the freedom to work in a highly collaborative environment, and work alongside a team of planners, engineers, and community consultants. Our design technologist team is an essential part of our practice and our ability to deliver excellent service.
Alongside unmatched coaching and learning opportunities, you can expect to be involved in the following:
Contributing to the production of engineering designs, including roadways, drainage, pump stations, sewage lift stations, PRV's, and site grading including watermains, sanitary and storm sewer systems.
Provide mentorship and technical coaching to others within the dynamic team.
Performing design reviews and drawing quality control to verify the accuracy of design production work
Support project teams with drawing production, construction specifications, and quantity calculations
Preparing construction cost estimates, tendering documents, and contracts.
About You
Our preferred candidate is a graduate of an Engineering Design & Drafting Technology or Civil Engineering Technology program with a minimum of 3 years of working experience and is eligible to be registered with ASTTBC. In addition, the following attributes would be considered beneficial for this role:
You are a self-starter that can work independently and collaborate effectively with others to produce high-quality work.
You have the skills to communicate effectively and are keen to build nurturing relationships with people from varying backgrounds.
You have a detailed understanding of design/production software and engineering fundamentals.
You have a keen eye for detail and take pride in your work.
