Job Overview
RailPros provides comprehensive consulting services for the rail industry. We specialize in areas of RWIC/railroad flagging, project management, observation and inspection, real estate, rail design and engineering, training, and media production. As a leader in our industry, RailPros' projects create long-term value for our clients from concept through operation by providing technical excellence and outstanding services. We are seeking a Civil Engineer with a focus on highway and street design.
Ideally, candidate will reside in close proximity to one of our California office locations, if further away, expect increased travel:
CA - Irvine, Los Angeles, San Diego, or Riverside
Our Civil Engineer will be involved with projects requiring a wide range of design disciplines and elements of civil engineering with a focus on street/highway design. The Civil Engineer will design and assist in the review of street improvements at various locations throughout the United States.
Primary Duties:
Maintain compliance with safety and regulatory standards
Evaluate operations and processes
Suggest process and technical design changes to improve performance and efficiency
Implement improvements to designs and processes
Monitor project progress, compliance with design specifications and safety standards
Maintain detailed documentation of all site engineering activities
Collaborate with management to align activities with desired business outcomes
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering
Minimum 10 years' experience developing construction plans, specifications, and estimates
High level of proficiency in Inroads and/or Civil 3D
Proficient in drawing/detailing plans using Microstation and/or AutoCAD
Experience leading design teams and mentoring junior engineers
Knowledge and understanding of applicable codes and regulations (i.e., ADA & Water Quality)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
PE license in California
Preferred Qualifications:
Project management experience
Business development experience
Transit design experience
Proficient in drainage design
