Description:

Chemical Technicians will be working in SPEC Gas Building, Arsine Gas Building, or Gas Mixing Building onsite at Matheson. Techs will be mixing components to make products for Matheson's customers in the electronic industry.

Chemical Technicians will be working in industrial gas manufacturing facility. Techs will be mixing components to make products for customers in the electronic industry for customers such as Samsung, etc. Inspect manufacturing equipment on a daily basis to ensure safe operation of the chemical process. Changes reactants, operates valves, controls, and related items to obtain specified flow rates, temperatures and pressures. Fills finished product into cylinders or correlates filling with the Gas Filling Department. Recommends process and equipment changes as needed. Maintains daily inventory production records. Controls inventory of raw material. Performs all other tasks as assigned by local plant management. Adheres to all quality assurance policies and standards. Recommends process changes to improve the quality/purity of the products manufactured. Performs scale and instrument calibration checks as required by companys quality system. Maintains run charts for performance of scales.

REQUIREMENTS

• High school diploma or equivalent. Must be able to perform mathematical exercises of moderate complexity.

Candidate must have HS diploma with 2 years of relevant experience at minimum - toxic gas or chemical handling. Will consider entry level candidates with Process Technology degree (associates degree). TN Tech and Nashville State offer this program

Candidate must have strong Microsoft Skills - Word and Excel. Able to input information into documents and spread sheets - do not need to know formulas or pivot tables.

Candidate must be able to perform basic math - adding and subtracting

Candidate must be detail oriented - they could be working with 60 different components to make mixtures

Candidates who have worked out great in these positions in the past: ex military people, people with p-tech degrees (process technology). Nashville State (located in Dickson) offers process technology associates degrees. People with some mechanical experience.
