Capital Projects Training Manager
Location: Charlotte, NC
Seeking a Capital Projects Training Manager to advance the maturity of our Capital Project training program to support company's expanding portfolio. This role will primarily assist the global capital project management community, through onboarding training programs and internally required continuing education programs. Candidate must be experienced with handling a broad community of practice, covering capital projects that vary from small sustaining capital at a site to $2 billion in total installed capital (TIC) on a pace of approximately 2 Billion USD per year of overall spending. Company utilizes internal resources, seconded contractor resources, and third-party support to deliver on the global portfolio. The successful candidate must have experience with templates, tools, and best practices for implementation in this environment. Candidate will be responsible for recruiting and managing a small team of subject matter experts who must work in a matrixed environment to assist the global capital project management community.

Responsibilities
- Establish and support the implementation of a company standard capital project onboarding and continuous education model and systems
- Collaborate with site personnel, capital project management teams, and peer organizations to ensure alignment on corporate strategy and goals.
- Partner/consult with subject matter experts in the capital projects organization to assess training gaps and identify training needs
- Coordinate training course development by utilizing internal and external resources to promote lessons learned, technical advancement, and project management skills
- Manage the global Training Center of Excellence for Capital Project Management, including facilitating lessons learned sessions and updating training.
- Subject matter expertise on learning and development best practices in the industry.
- Consult with leaders and stakeholders about modern learning and development approaches, gaining influence and buy-in for implementing optimized talent solutions.
- Partner and collaborate within the Global Learning Excellence team, sharing best practices and insights about global capability-building programs and experiences.
- 10 years of relevant experience, with a preferred 3+ years of experience coordinating the development and execution of training in a manufacturing environment
- Previous management experience within an Owner's organization is required.
- Experience building and motivating a team
- Program Design & Implementation Experience - You will manage learning programs and initiatives by identifying organizational needs, securing resources, communicating with stakeholders, and prioritizing work. You will develop and deploy learning plans for the global capital projects organization
- Knowledge/Skills: Must be self-motivated and possess good organizational skills. Must be able to work as part of a team. Must pay close attention to details, follow high standards for accuracy and completeness and accept constructive criticism from coworkers.
- Computer Proficiencies: General skills in MS PowerPoint, word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications are required. Experience in current and best practice tools for training development and management required. Cornerstone experience is a plus.
- Knowledge of SAP Capital Project Modules would be an advantage.
- Communication Skills: Must have analytical skills and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Bachelor's Degree in Related Field (i.e. Engineering; Training and Development; Human Resources; Education; Instructional Design; Computer Science; Information Technology; Organizational Psychology etc.)
- Experience in the chemical/petrochemical industry preferred
- Experience in information technology would be preferred as organization is introducing more e-learning and technology-based tool
- Change management certification or experience leading change is a plus
