Position Summary/Purpose of Position:
The purpose of this position is to provide technical support in the development of accurate and up-to-date surface and subsurface utilities mapping data that supports reliable utilities location tracking, system modeling, and real-time sensor data integration in campus utility mapping and data visualization applications. This position is responsible for surveying, reconciling, and maintaining new and legacy campus utility mapping data within Facilities Management (FM)'s Enterprise GIS system. Duties will focus on surveying, digitization, and management of utilities mapping data and CAD/GIS interoperability. This position will work closely with the FM GIS team to ensure data compatibility for use in Enterprise GIS applications and the OSIsoft PI System. This position coordinates with the Customer Response Center, Planning and Construction, FM shops and contractors excavating on campus to ensure utilities are properly marked. This position: confirms that utility markings match utility maps; updates campus utility maps to incorporate new underground utility lines, in-building utility lines, manholes, devices, etc., as well as modifications to existing underground and in-building utility systems; monitors ongoing underground excavation to confirm exact locations and depths of underground utility systems via field surveying as they are exposed and modifies utility maps to incorporate exact utility locations.

Minimum Qualifications:
EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree in GIS, CAD, Engineering or similar related field.

EXPERIENCE: Minimum of four to seven (4- 7) years of experience as a GIS/CAD Technician in engineering, utility location, or land surveying applications with bachelor's degree in GIS, CAD, or similar related field.

Or, without a bachelor's degree, eight (8) years of experience as a GIS/CAD Technician in engineering, utility location, or land surveying applications.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:Ability to use AutoCAD/GIS to create, modify, convert, and standardize new and existing utilities data. A good understanding of surveying, mapping, and spatial data management methodologies.

Preferences:
AutoCAD 2016 or newer
ArcGIS Desktop 10.x and/or ArcGIS Pro 2.x
Autodesk Revit 2019 or newer BIM experience
ArcGIS Online or Portal data management experience
Ability to use survey instruments, such as survey-grade GPS.
OSISoft PI system experience preferred
Experience with Esri Utility Networks and Data Models a plus
Six (6) years of experience preferred.

Additional Certifications:
Although driving a State Vehicle is not a requirement for this position, travel by foot or vehicle may be required from time to time for meetings, deliveries, etc. across campus. If driving a State vehicle, the incumbent must possess and maintain a valid class C Driver's license or equivalent with fewer than 6 points.
