Job Overview
CADD Lead Aguirre & Fields is seeking a qualified CADD Lead to join our Austin, TX team. If you have previous experience using Microstation or ORD within the civil engineering industry (TxDOT transportation or structures projects), this position could be the right fit. POSITION SUMMARY Oversee day-to-day operations of the office CADD group and ensure they are properly equipped and staffed. Assist in maintaining the CADD standards and ensure they are being utilized consistently in the office. Perform technical drafting and design support for assigned projects using computer-aided drafting & design programs such as AutoCAD (Civil 3D) and Microstation (OpenRoads). Apply civil engineering techniques, terminology, practices, project schedules, plans, and processes ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Provide leadership with grit and character by being a good communicator, having interest in learning, be inspiring, a visionary, a team builder, live our Purpose, help achieving our Vision, allow others to shine, taking responsibility, leading by example, and being dependable, respectful, passionate and an active listener. Assist the CADD Group Lead in planning, organizing, and managing the work plans for the office CADD staff. Assist the CADD Group Lead develop, implement and monitor CADD design standards and procedures to meet customer needs. Work with CADD staff regarding technical issues, training, and other CADD system issues. Identify opportunities and recommendations for increasing workflow efficiencies. Recommend best practices for solutions to meet customer business needs. Evaluate team members for their technical skills, performance, and productivity. Maintain a positive working relationship with all levels of the organization. Perform Engineering Technician duties as required. Assume other duties as directed by the CADD Group Lead Support and maintain the morale, welfare, professional development, training, and work-life balance of all assigned staff utilizing the Company's Guiding Principles. SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES Supervises CADD staff in the local office. QUALIFICATIONS High School Diploma or comparable GED 8+ years of experience with CADD software in the Civil Engineering Transportation industry preferred Leadership and team management experience preferred Completion of a Computer-Aided Drafting Certification program preferred Relevant technology/software experience (Microstation, OpenRoads required) Experience in creating 3D modeling and visualization Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally Aguirre & Fields is a team of engineering innovators with grit and character, united by a passion to serve communities where they live and work and a determination to see those communities grow and flourish.
