Description:

A company is looking to hire a CAD Technician for their Survey Team in Lafayette, Indiana. This is an ENTRY LEVEL position - client would like to train someone to do this role.

POSITION SUMMARY

Assist with the processing of data collected during field survey efforts resulting in a three-dimensional model to be used for road, bridge, or site design. Prepare plat maps depicting existing topography. Assist with the preparation of boundary or route survey. Collaborate with various design departments in the creations of right-of-way plans.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Uses a basic to intermediate knowledge of the various AutoCAD and Civil 3D modules to create accurate survey drawings according to company, client or regulatory agency standards, methods, and procedures.

- Drafts survey plans for clients - topographic surveys, right-of-way plans - from field data collected for Survey Field Crews

- Maintains and organizes all project drafting-related documentation including computerized data and files.

- Annotates sheet files, including dimensioning, call-outs, labels, notes, legends, tables, scales and maps.

- Performs duties that may include (but are not limited to) structural detailing, document QC/QA, field investigations, basic computations for cost estimates/quantity takeoffs or other non-technical duties.

HOURS

Monday - Thursday 7:00AM - 4:30PM (45 minute lunch)

Friday 7:00AM - 12:00PM

- BF&S also offers flex-time which is the ability to work anytime from 6AM -6PM. The person will need to be trained up before they would be able to schedule "off hours" work

REMOTE OPTIONS

After this person is trained and able to function independently, BF&S offers remote work. 3 days per week in the office and 2 days per week to work from home.
