Job Summary:
The Bus/Truck Mechanic position includes the following responsibilities:
Inspect, diagnose, repair, and perform routine maintenance on school buses, trucks, or other District vehicle or motorized machine (lawnmower, leaf blower, etc.).
May work on any vehicle system including diesel and gas engines, electrical, fuel, transmission and drive components, brakes, tires, exhaust, interior, batteries, suspension, wheels, cooling, frame, hydraulic and pneumatic.
May include disassembly, reconditioning, overhaul, or replacement of components or parts.
May be assigned tasks according to his or her specialty or technical experience/expertise.
May perform gas and arc welding if certified. Cleans and maintains immediate work area and shop.
Reviews work orders, and writes time spent on job on Mechanic Daily Report.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma or equivalent Three years of experience/training in in diesel and automotive mechanics preferred.
Must pass criminal background check.
LICENCES REQUIRED:
Valid WA State driver's license with a class "B" endorsement or be able and willing to immediately obtain one.
All LWSD employees are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Failure to submit proof of vaccination or qualify for a reasonable accommodation will result in withdrawal of a job offer.
