Business Development Director- Construction

Our construction client is actively seeking an experienced Business Development professional, with experience in the Washington D.C and Northern Virginia market for a full time permanent staff opportunity. Qualified individuals with contacts & relationships within the construction industry that would allow you to generate new business opportunities. Competitive base salary and bonus. Experience in a marketing, business development or sales role within the construction industry. Experience in Civil Construction desired (Heavy Civil, Bridges, Highways, Excavation, Paving, Sitework), relevant Engineering, Commercial or Industrial Construction considered. Our client will not consider residential builder candidates.

• Aid in company business development, marketing, and proposal activities
• Identify, develop, and recommend strategy & tactics to expand new business opportunities
• Secure large construction projects
• Leverage contacts and previous clients to open new opportunities for business
• Strong experience developing proposals
• Communicate with senior management in terms of agreed upon objectives and efforts taken to achieve the necessary results
• Stay current with market trends and current business environment
• Results driven individual with a history of proven results
• Remain up to date with industry trends and potential opportunities
• Work collaboratively with team members

Qualifications:

• BA/BS degree (Construction, Business, Marketing, or related field) is a plus
• Generate new business through industry contacts and current/previous clients
• Approximately three (3) or more years' experience in the construction industry with a successful record.
• Established relationships within the industry that would allow you to generate new business
• Excellent presentation, relationship building, and communications skills verbal & written
• Ability to interact & communicate with clients, staff, subcontractors, and executive management.
• Ability and previous successful experience developing new business and creating technical proposals.
• Microsoft proficient
