Job Type: Full-time

Location: Remote in Denver, CO

Base Salary: $120,000/annually (with $50,000 in bonuses)

Summary:

The Director of Business Development (DBD) is ultimately responsible for growing the company's business, increasing its revenue, finding new business opportunities, and building the company's brand. The DBD manages a team of Accounts Executives and is responsible for each Account Executive meeting or exceeding their sales quota expectations in addition to managing the Marketing team. The DBD creates and implements sales strategies that lead to higher: revenue growth, existing client growth, new clients, and new client growth. The DBD identifies and evaluates new service offerings and expanding current service offerings. The DBD generates new business by their own personal involvement with clients (calls, emails, in-person meetings, virtual meetings, etc.) and supporting their Business Development team with their activities. The DBD works very closely with Marketing and Project Management on marketing campaigns and events for existing and prospective clients in order to increase name recognition, increase presence, and build relationships in the marketplace. The DBD also works with other departments in various capacities. The DBD tracks and reports on all sales and marketing activities.

Essential Duties:
Meet or exceed quarterly sales quota
Manages Business Development team to ensure each Account Executive meets or exceeds their quarterly sales quota
Manages Marketing department to ensure Ascent is creating and deploying innovative and effective marketing strategies to generate new clients and maintain existing clients
Makes cold calls on phone and in person to assigned companies, organizations, and individuals
Sells the entire spectrum of Ascent service offerings
Manages the maintenance and updating of all sales and marketing materials
Participates in strategic marketing events, campaigns, forums, conferences, and other industry relevant events
Identifies, evaluates, and implements strategies for new markets and service offerings
Generates competitive intelligence and develops strategies for competitive differentiation and maintaining cost competitiveness in the market
Participates in marketing designated product offerings and converts marketing activities into developed sales opportunities
Develops and implements customer engagement tactics building strong relationships and maximizing the chances to win
Creates and conducts sales trainings for Account Executives
Utilizes and updates to track all sales and marketing activities.
Develops and implements a quarterly plan with daily, weekly, and monthly metrics that are specific, measurable, time bound and attainable
Performs other business-development related duties as required and assigned

Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree required
Minimum of 5+ years outbound B2B sales experience with proven consistent track record of exceeding sales goals
Minimum of 2+ years sales management experience with proven consistent track record of exceeding sales goals
Outdoor service industry (oil & gas, mining, transportation, construction, etc.) experience preferred
Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record

Supervisory Responsibilities:
Hires and trains regional sales and marketing staff
Organizes and oversees the schedules, territories, and performance of regional and local sales managers
Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive
Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy

Other Need-to-know items:
Domestic travel is estimated to be required for 25% of the time spent in this role
Travel can range from a few days to a week
Travel for client meetings, conferences, team events, and other related business development activities
