During the next couple of years, we are going to transform our book printing operation by updating and expanding the space and adding state of the art equipment and processes giving you many opportunities to learn new skills.
Some of the projects you will be involved in over the next 12- 18 months:
- Supporting equipment moves throughout the facility as we expand and change the flow of production
- Working on construction projects with our management team to streamline production processes
- Upgrading our building infrastructure: compressed air, vacuum, HVAC, etc.
- Working with outside contractors- roofing, plumbing, etc. - to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Improving safety throughout the facility
- Redesign and implementation of our future flex office space
Items facilities will work on from day to day:
- Safety is our number one goal, and we want to work safe at all times
- Fixing sinks, toilets, flush valves, faucets, sink traps, supply lines
- Running compressed air line, vacuum line, and sometimes chilled water lines
- Hanging pictures, TV's, in-bin's
- Working off of scissor lifts, extension ladders, a-frame ladders and sometime a forklift basket
- Installing ceiling grid, ceiling tiles, light fixtures
Schedule: This is a full-time position scheduled to work Monday through Friday, 8AM to 4PM at our HQ in Pennsauken, NJ.
Responsibilities/Tasks
Monitor safety systems throughout the facility
Demolition and remodel of existing spaces
Painting and prep work
Assist in heavy machinery moves
Prepare "jigs" to support production efficiency improvements
Set up production spaces
Support the project management of ongoing and new initiatives
Inventory, ordering and tracking of Facilities supplies
Internal customer support
Qualifications
A successful candidate will likely have independent contractor work experience and a broad range of contracting skills
3 -5 years experience with building maintenance repairs, painting and preparation, carpentry and use of common carpentry and maintenance tools.
Some knowledge of electric, basic plumbing, floor tiles and furniture assembly, along with other assembly work in pre-fabricated items
Special Skills Required
Strong communication and time management skills
Ability to work with a team or independently, sometimes with little or no supervision
Basic math skills
Strong attention to detail
Computer skills: including Microsoft office suite
Physical Demands
Job includes lifting (some heavy > 100 lbs), standing, walking, ladder climbing, working on scaffolding, carrying materials, furniture, shelving, and similar physical demands.
